New! Fun and Fitness Sessions at Petroc Rob (Nippers) - 19 January 2012 @ 18:28 The club is running fun and fitness sessions at Petroc in the sports hall. The sessions run on Tuesday evenings from this Tuesday 24th January. £1 each per session.

Mad ladies alert! Lions club swimathon charity & Saunton Sands SLSC fundraiser 19 January 2012 @ 13:42 Ann Smith has gotten in touch with a short message to all who are willing to help a great cause... and the club!
"A group of slightly mad ladies, have entered the Lions Swimathon on Sunday 5th Feb. Why?? Because all the sponsor money we raise will benefit not 1 but 2 worthy charities. Half the money we raise will go to the Lions Club who support other charities and worthy causes and half will go to OUR club to help send a team to the worlds later this year. We need your help to raise loads of money for these 2 worthy causes.
We have sponsor forms and will be asking you to sponsor us. Every little helps! Please contact us if you don't see us around and pledge your sponsor. Please do not pay the club direct as the Lions club collect the sponsor money then present the club with half the amount later. We are willing to dust off our cozies for these great causes so please, please dig deep and support us.

Auction of Favours 15 January 2012 @ 22:12 Jan Reid would like to organise an auction of favours to support our Inshore Rescue Boat Section with their competition fees and specifically their planned trip to Adelaide to compete in the World Championship. This would include a social event for the auction of favours donated by members. So for instance someone could offer their gardening skills for 4 hours, a qualified hairdresser could offer a cut and blow dry, an electrician could offer his/her skills.You could offer to bake a cake, drive someone to Exeter, walk a dog, babysitting, doing someone’s shopping etc. anything LEGAL!! Once a bank of favours has been offered the event can be organised. If you can offer a favour or service please email it to pdreid@lineone.net or send to Jan Reid The Willows, Ash Road, Braunton EX33 2EF.

Toby Watts and Emily Malek won the Flippers running races 11 January 2012 @ 20:45 On the last evening of the season on the beach in 2011 Toby and Emily won the Flippers running races. They were close contests and everyone tried really hard. It is worth knowing that both of them were 6 at the time and beat all of the 7yr olds - a real achievement - well done!!
New Years Day Dip 2012! 07 January 2012 @ 16:50 Bob Bunney has sent in a set of images taken from what appeared to be a lovely, warm dip in the ocean to mark the arrival of 2012!
