Conditions at Gyllyngvase7th August 2010 Just a short message from Pete to let all Nippers know that the conditions for the upcoming Nippers National Ocean Championships 2010 next week (13th & 14th August) are going to be very similar to those of last year's championships! To this end trainers &/or wetsuit boots etc may be appropriate. Make sure you're prepared! 
Nippers Nationals Entry Forms Available Now!9th July 2010 Pete Purchase has sent in the entry forms any Nippers will need if they would like to participate in the 2010 National Surf Life Saving Championships at Gyllyngvase Beach, Falmouth. The championships take place on Friday 13th August & Saturday 14th August 2010 and start at 8am on the beach. Entry fees are £20 per person. Nippers Devon Championships Entry Forms19th June 2010 Sunday 11th July 2010 is the date all Nippers should be aware of, because that's the date of the Devon Surf Live Saving Championships at Putsborough! Nippers National Stillwater Results14th March 2010 Pete Purchase has sent in the results from the recent Nippers National Stillwater Championships. Nippers notices23rd August 2009 Toby Ansdell has gotten in contact to let all nippers know that on Monday 24th August (Tommorrow), all members are encouraged to attend at the club house for a nippers presentation evening (Particularly for those who have just competed at the nippers nationals at Falmouth). Weather permitting, there will also be a BBQ! (Apologies for the late notice of this event - editor). Also, the Le Sport annual challenge of Saunton vs. Croyde will now take place on Friday 4th September at 6pm. Le Sport have kindly sponsored the event and donated some great prizes for all races, so all nippers are encouraged to attend! If parents are free to help out then please do as much help is also needed. 
Nippers & Juniors Nationals info23rd July 2009 Pete Purchase has sent in important stuff all Nippers should be aware of concerning the Nationals. The Nationals (14th & 15th August at Gyllyngvase beach, Falmouth) entry forms have been sent in, and must be completed and handed in by Friday 24th July 2009 (Tomorrow!). Le Sport Shield23rd July 2009 Friday 31st July 2009 see's the annual nippers challenge towards the Le Sport shield against Croyde! Starting at 6pm on the beach, as many nippers as possible are needed, and as many parents who are free to help out at the event are also needed! As well as being a great opportunity for a bit of extra training towards the upcoming nippers Nationals, its also great fun!

Nippers Team Building at Wimbleball9th June 2009 As a reminder, the 'Nippers Training & Team Building Day' is on Sunday 28th June 2009 at 9:45am at Wimbleball Reservoir Water Sports Center (Dulverton). Entry is £3 per person (Max of £15 per family - Pay on the day), and it is asked that all Nippers wear Saunton uniform at all times. Back to the beach for the Nippers6th April 2009 Pete Purchase has sent in the dates Nippers need to take a note of with regards to pool and beach training. The last Sunday pool training date is 5th April 2009 (Yesterday!), while the last Monday pool training date is 20th April 2009. Also note that there is no pool training on Monday 13th April 2009. The first night training back at the beach is Friday 24th April 2009 for beach work only. Training will then be at the beach from Monday 27th April 2009, starting at 6:30pm, and then every Monday & Friday following from 6:30pm - approx. 8pm.
Nippers Dominate at Millfield18th February 2009  The great Nippers of Saunton Sands won the recent 2009 National Stillwater Championships at Millfield School. Saunton took away 68 medals (Including 22 golds & 27 silvers) and clocked up over 2000 points! The following people have the following words to say on the great work:

Nippers Nationals - Get your entries in!7th January 2009 Pete Purchase has sent in the entry form for the upcoming Nippers National Stillwater Championships 2009 which you will need to fill in and return by Monday 19th January 2009. All Nippers should also make sure they are fully paid members for the year 2009 before entering the nationals. Entry fee is £17.50 per person, and the event is on Saturday 7th February 2009 at Millfield, Somerset (Registration 8am). Nipper bits12th September 2008 Pete Purchase has gotten in contact to remind the nippers of a few items. Firstly remember that the group photo for everyone that competed in the Nippers Nationals is being taken tomorrow (Friday 12th September) at 6pm sharp! All nippers are asked to wear the club uniform for the picture (I.e. Club hat, club/black swimsuit/trunks, and new competition rashvests). The photo will be followed by a friendly with Croyde! More Nipper Snappers15th August 2008 Following the event of which saw Saunton Sands' Nippers win at the National Championships, the gallery of the event has grown thanks to some more snapshots from Colin & Tracey Leaper. There's now 60 great pics to view of the Nippers Nationals, with some of the new pictures really showing the conditions the Nippers dealt with well to take home the gold! Nippers win! Nippers win!12th August 2008 Pretty much everyone from Pete Purchase to Bryan Smith has gotten in contact wanting to congratulate all the Saunton Sands Nippers on their hard work that brought home more points than anyone else over the championship weekend! Many thanks also go out to everyone who also contributed to the weekends work including the mums and dads for making the weekend the success it was!

Nippers Day Out!30th June 2008 Toby Ansdell has e-mailled in care of Nippers coach Pete Purchase to let everyone out there know that the Nippers will be having a training and team building day on 27th July 2008 at Wimbleball Reservoir Water Sports Center, Dulverton. The days activities take place between 9:30am & 4pm (Approx.) and costs £2.50 (Pay on the day). Training out, Easter in!19th March 2008 Pete Purchase has E-Mailed in to inform all the Nippers out there that there will be no training on Sunday 23rd March and Monday 24th March as the swimming pool is closed! Everyone else... read the notice after this!2nd December 2007 Shortly after Bryan sent in everything anyone would possibly need to know when considering entering the Devon Stillwaters next January, Pete Purchase is on hand to make sure the Nippers aren't forgotten in all of this! So if you're a nipper and you're entering the Devon Stillwaters on Saturday 19th January 2008, read on! Registration for the event will be at poolside for 8am, with warm-ups following at 8:30am. You will need your fins, a club swimming hat, and swim suits (I.e. No clown costumes!) & it's also preferred if you've got a club T-Shirt or sweatshirt to bring that along too! The cost for this event is £10 per nipper, and you must get your application in by Monday 17th December 2007 - No Late Entries!!! The entry form can also be downloaded from either the Nippers page, the articles page or the competition calendar page which also lists all the current competitions scheduled for 2008. If you haven't already been there, then make sure you write down all those important nipper competition dates on your 2008 calendars at home if you get one for christmas! If you don't get a calendar for christmas... use some post-it notes or something! Make sure you get your entries in on time!

Back to the Beach!4th April 2007 Pete Purhcase has an important notice for all nippers, so listen up! From Friday 13th April we will be starting down the beach, 6.30pm start untill about 8.00pm. Friday nights will be for nippers who are going to compete for the club in the Devon and national championships this year. Monday nights will still be at the leisure centre pool, 7.00pm untill 8.00pm, until further notice. Friday nights will be beach training only until further notice.

Confused? Sorry about that...13th November 2006 Another quick update regarding the recent addition of Nippers competition dates, for those a little confused as to when the Nippers Nationals are... the dates are February, not January. When the competition dates were compiled for the competitions page, i was given two sets of nippers nationals dates without realising it. Apologies for the confusion. To simplify everything, all the nippers competition dates are now available on the nippers pages as well as altogether on the competition dates page alongside the masters, seniors & juniors dates.
Nippers Christmas comes 3 days early!12th November 2006 Just a quick update with a small addition to the nippers training timetable. On Friday 22nd December 2006, members of Saunton Sands SLSC will be treated with a trip to the Big Sheep! How amazing is that! Just 3 days before christmas as well, what a treat indeed - I sure wish i was going, you lucky kids you! If you didn't catch the training schedule upto and just after christmas beforehand please make sure you do so, available over at the Nippers pages.

Nippers to go one Level Up on cBBC!1st June 2006 A new interactive magazine television show is to soon make it's appearance on cBBC entitled Level Up - And as one of their show's features, Saunton Sands very own Nippers are to make an showing. They're planning to film during the day of Sunday 25th June (Exact times TBC), where an inter-club or local derby competition will be organised by them at Saunton Sands to capture the aspect of being in the club, as well as Monday 26th June where they may also join in on the club's evening meeting. If your child is able to attend for both of these times (I.e. the entire day on the Sunday and the evening on the Monday), please let 'Mr. Nippers' (A.K.A. Dave Worms) know A.S.A.P! Written permission is required by the BBC from the parents of every child that makes an appearance during the filming, which will be done through Dave. Nippers, get your slips here!20th March 2006 Courtesy of one Pete Purchase, the Entry Slip for the upcoming Nippers National Stillwater Championships of 2006 are fast approaching, however, to enter, you'll need an entry slip, and you can get one such thing right here! However, if you can't wait, why not print it straight away by using a new feature on the website that will hopefully be implemented more into this place later on in the year. Simply click on the following button, and it prints, just like that! Turn your printer on, make sure you've got Microsoft Word (Or a program that reads .doc files), click the following button, and then watch it appear from your printer as if by magic! Let me know what you think to the feature and if you're having a bit of trouble with it, or if you'd like to see it make more appearances around the website by E-Mail, or by posting in our rather untouched community forums!
Note for the Nippers13th March 2006 This year's Nippers Stillwater Nationals will be held at Hutton Moor Leisure Centre, Weston-Super-Mare on Sunday 30th April 2006. We need to know if you (The Nippers) are going to compete for the club, so we can sort out lane's for training. Please contact Pete or your coach as soon as possible - You must be a paid up member of the club.

Registration will be on the poolside at 8:30am and warm-up will be at 9:00am. There will be a £5.00 entry fee per person to be paid by 13th February 2006. (Checks made payable to S.S.S.L.S.C.) Super-Mare Nippers 200619th December 2005 The Nipper Stillwater competitions for 2006 will take place on Sunday 30th April between the times of 8am and 6pm. The Venue for this years competition is the Hutton Moor Leisure Centre in Weston-Super-Mare. Better not let all that christmas stuffing get to your heads afterall Nippers, or you'll have to work of extra in the new year! Why not leave some extra for your mums instead this Christmas day?
